How Hale Law Started
Patrick M. Hale founded Hale Law in 2018 out of a single room in Sarasota. He had one goal: represent everyday Floridians who had been wrongfully injured by someone else's negligence. No corporate clients and no insurance company defense work—just people who needed someone to fight for them.
Patrick is a fifth-generation Floridian. He grew up in this state, earned his undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida, and went on to graduate from Stetson University College of Law, Florida's oldest law school and home to the nation's top-ranked Trial Advocacy program.
Before starting the firm, Patrick spent years building experience in insurance defense, appellate work, and criminal prosecution before founding the firm. He clerked for the Florida Attorney General's Office and the Sixth Judicial Circuit Civil Appellate Panel, where he drafted published judicial orders.
He worked at a prominent insurance defense firm, learning firsthand how insurers evaluate claims, build defenses, and work to pay injured people as little as possible. Then he served as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases and completing over 30 trials to verdict.
All of that led to one conclusion: the people on the other side of those insurance claims needed better representation. So Patrick built Hale Law to give it to them.
What started as a one-attorney practice has grown into a firm with multiple attorneys and eight offices across Southwest Florida. But the philosophy has never changed. Every client still gets the personal attention that Patrick insisted on from day one.
What We Do
Hale Law handles personal injury cases. That is all we do, and we do it with complete focus.
Our practice covers the full range of injury claims that affect people across the Sarasota, Bradenton, and greater Gulf Coast region.
That includes car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, slip and fall injuries, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, dog bites, boating accidents, rideshare accidents, and wrongful death.
We also fight for clients with the most serious and life-changing injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, severe burns, and amputations. These cases demand aggressive, well-prepared attorneys, and that is exactly what our team brings to every claim.
What Makes Hale Law Different?
We Used to Represent Insurance Companies
Before dedicating our practice solely to representing injury victims, several attorneys at our firm previously represented insurance companies. That background provided firsthand insight into how insurers assess claims, the defense strategies they commonly employ, and the weaknesses within those approaches. Today, we use that experience to advocate effectively on your behalf.
We Prepare Every Case for Trial
We approach each case with thorough preparation, including evaluating how it would be presented at trial if necessary. Our office includes its own courtroom where our attorneys practice arguments, test evidence presentations, and sharpen their strategies.
While most personal injury cases resolve before reaching trial, insurance companies approach claims differently when they recognize that a case has been fully developed and prepared for litigation. That level of preparation strengthens our position in settlement negotiations and ensures we are ready to present a compelling case in court when necessary.
Personal Representation, Start to Finish
Our firm grew from a one-room practice where Patrick personally knew every client. That commitment to direct attorney involvement still defines how we operate today.
When you call, you reach someone who knows your case. When you have a question, you receive a timely and thoughtful response. The attorney handling your claim remains actively involved from intake through resolution.
