Hale Law’s Teacher of the Year Contest

Celebrating Excellence in Education Across Sarasota and Manatee Counties

At Hale Law, we believe in giving back to our community and honoring those who shape our future. This year, we are proud to announce our second annual Teacher of the Year Contest, designed to spotlight and reward exceptional educators in Sarasota and Manatee counties. These dedicated professionals go above and beyond to inspire, educate, and guide our youth. It’s our turn to show appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

Teacher of the Year Contest Rules, Terms, and Conditions

1. Eligibility: This contest is open to currently employed teachers at all types of schools, including public, private, charter, magnet schools, or any other type of accredited schools in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Nominees must be legal residents of the United States and at least 18 years of age. Employees and former clients of Hale Law, their immediate family members, and persons living in the same household are not eligible. Nominators and voters must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible to nominate and/or vote in this contest.

2. Contest Period: Nominations will be accepted starting on March 18, 2024 at 12:00PM EST and ending on April 8, 2024 at 12:00PM EST. Voting begins on April 15, 2024 at 12:00PM EST and ends on May 10, 2024 at 12:00PM EST. The winner will be announced during the week of May 20-24.

3. How to Enter: No purchase necessary to enter or win. To nominate a teacher, complete the nomination form with the required information, including a brief explanation of why the eligible nominee deserves the award.

4. Voting: Each unique voter is allowed to vote once per day during the voting period. Multiple votes by the same person on the same day will be disqualified. Votes must be cast directly by the person voting. Use of automated devices or services to cast votes is prohibited. Each unique voter must be able to

5. Selection of Winner: The teacher with the most valid votes at the end of the voting period will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, a panel of judges from Hale Law will select the winner based on the criteria of dedication, impact, and creativity as demonstrated in the nomination submissions.

6. Prize: The winning teacher will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The prize is non-transferable and no substitution will be made. The winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use.

7. Notification: The winner will be notified in person if possible or via email and/or phone call and must respond within a specified period to claim their prize. If the winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within the required time period, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next highest vote-getter.

8. Publicity: Participation in the contest constitutes consent to use the nominees’ and winner‘s name, likeness, and entry for promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by

law.

9. General Conditions: Hale Law reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Contest if any fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Hale Law’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Hale Law in its sole discretion.

10. Release and Limitations of Liability: By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Hale Law, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotional partners, prize partners, agents, and agencies, and the officers, directors, and employees of them (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.

11. Privacy: By participating in this contest, entrants confirm that they are at least 18 years of age and agree to the collection and use of their personal information by Hale Law. Furthermore, entrants consent to allow Hale Law to contact them in the future regarding this contest and for marketing purposes, including but not limited to, promotions, offers, and other contests. Your participation signifies your agreement to such use and contact.

12. Disputes: Entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved under the laws of the state of Florida, without respect to any conflict of law issues.

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, any social media platforms on which it may be promoted.

Acknowledgment: By participating in the Contest, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. Your participation is considered a declaration of your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding.

Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
