On Wednesday evening, June 15, 2022, the Southwest Florida Paralegal Association was kind enough to have one of our very own give a presentation at one of their dinners. The dinner took place at Peridia Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, Florida. Hale Law’s Tampa Managing Attorney, Trevor Sammons, drove down to give a presentation on what to do to prepare for a car accident, what to do if you are in a car accident, and what to do after you are in a car accident.
The presentation was titled “Car Accident? What the Hale to Do Next!”. During the presentation, Trevor spoke on the importance of understanding your insurance policy. He went through a typical insurance declaration page and walked through what each term meant. He discussed the necessity to have Bodily Injury coverage, Uninsured Motorist coverage, and the Florida-mandatory PIP coverage.
After exploring the declaration page, Trevor explained what each person should do if they ever find themselves in an accident. He divulged that one should call the police, take photographs of the scene, and try not to speak to the other driver involved in the crash. Most importantly, Trevor said to call a personal injury law firm like Hale Law.
The final topic that was discussed was what to do in the days following the accident. It is important to try to document injuries, to try not to post about the accident on social media, and to try to see a doctor within fourteen days of the accident just in case. Additionally, Trevor said to call a personal injury law firm like Hale Law to walk you through the appropriate steps to take given the circumstances since every case is different.
At the end of the presentation, Trevor left the floor open for questions. The paralegals at the event were extremely involved and were able to have a lot of questions answered.
